About SilkenFest

SilkenFest is the name for the International Silken Windhound Society's national specialty event. The first organized conformation show was held in 2000 and it has grown to include racing and coursing events in addition to health clinics and breed-related seminars.

SilkenFest 2012

SilkenFest 2012 will be held in Gettysburg, PA from June 1-4, 2012.

Regular classes will be judged by Mr. Jay Cunningham.

Professional storytellers weave the lore of some of the city's most haunted sites. A variety of tours are available year around, easily walked, and there is some seating along the way. Dogs are welcome to enjoy the activity for no additional fee. They must be well mannered, leashed, and under owners control and care at all times.

Probably the most famous American battlefield, Gettysburg marked the turning point in the Civil War. Later, President Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address here. Dogs are allowed to visit the outside portions of the battlefield on leash. They are not allowed into buildings or the cemetery. The battlefield consists of Auto Touring, walking and you can get tapes or CDs to guide you on your tour.

O'Rorke's Eatery & Spirits

The food is really good and the menu is huge. The atmosphere is that of a typical Irish pub. Big plus = dog friendly patio seating.

Treat yourself AND your pup to a sundae at Bruster's! They make a free sundae with dog bones crumbled on top for their furry customers.
